EAL 18th Edition Regulations - Certified Training

18th Edition Regulations Course: A short award which covers the full content of BS 7671:2018. On completion of this award, the learner will have a good working understanding of this standard.

The 18th Edition Regulations Course is essential for those who work in the electrotechnical sector, such as in the design, installation, maintenance and the inspection and testing of electrical installations.

Purpose of the qualification

This award gives the learner an understanding of the application of the IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition. It provides a facility for individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop and/or enhance their knowledge of the Requirements for Electrical Installation.

Who is this qualification for?

Personnel involved in the electrotechnical sector such as electricians, designers and inspectors who wish to update their knowledge to the IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition.

Learners who wish to gain an understanding of BS 7671.

What does this qualification cover?

The qualification covers the full content of BS 7671: IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition. The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, and also additions and alterations to existing installations. The award comprises of one unit which has 35 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). It has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) 40 hours (notational time required by the learner to complete the qualification).

What will be assessed?

The learner’s understanding of BS 7671.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Delegates will need to provide photographic identification as well as their National Insurance number on their first day of training. The following photographic identification is accepted:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence etc.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal entry requirements for the qualifications. However, learners must have the potential to achieve all aspects of the qualification. In particular, learners should be able to demonstrate that they have the minimum levels of literacy and numerary required for the completion of the learning outcomes and the assessment.
