The scheme assesses the competency of employees and contract staff who are working in environments with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres.

Originally developed by the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users’ Association (EEMUA) and JT Limited along with key industry stakeholders, JT Limited now own and operate the CompEx Scheme as the CompEx Certification Body and is internationally accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17024 : 2012 Conformity Assessment – General Requirements for bodies offering Certification of Persons.
